104 Signal Squadron on Patrol in South Vietnam

Details: The Task Force Signal Squadron (104 Sig Sqn) during its deployment in South Vietnam provided communications for the Headquarters of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF). As well as its Signal duties 104 Sig Sqn had a combat role, being a unit from the Royal Australian Corps of Signals (RASigs) an Arms Corps during the Vietnam War. While the unit did many combat activities as part of its communication tasks, it also conducted 1ATF Tactical Area of Responsibility (TAOR) Patrols.

The small village of Silverton is in the
far west of NSW, 26km north-west of Broken Hill. Movies
that were filmed in the Silverton area include Razorback (film),
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, The Flying
Doctors, Dirty Deeds and Max Max 2.

Jabiru in Kakadu.
The Jabiru is the only stork found in Australia. With black and white
body plumage, glossy dark green and purple neck and massive black bill, it
is easily identified from all other Australian birds. This magnificent
bird is feeding in the wetlands of Kakadu National Park, NT.

Bankfoot House and the Kookaburra.
Bankfoot House enjoys a picturesque location alongside
the Old Gympie Road in Queensland’s Glass House Mountains.
Established in 1868 as a roadside accommodation house, dinner
stage and change of horses, for the coaches of Cobb & Co on the
new road from Brisbane to the Gympie gold rush. It is the oldest
surviving building in the Glass House Mountains.
